Trust is at the core of my relationships with my clients. It’s why I'm invited to capture their biggest moments — weddings, milestone birthdays, family gatherings — and why I am honored to witness the moments they hold closest to their hearts.

Documenting a birth is the ultimate expression of that trust. Before the birth, I already knew the family very well. Our connection had been built over months of sessions, invitations to their home, and simply put -- good times.

When I received the call — a week earlier than expected — I knew it was go time. I gathered my camera gear, packed my bag, and made my way, knowing this birth would be filled with tension, hope, and anticipation. Their village slowly began to pour into the room and it was beautiful to see. In that room, love, strength, and vulnerability existed all at once. The trust that we've built allowed me to move quietly, intentionally, and respectfully in the room, while capturing the intimate moments and all the emotions.

And then baby Sebas arrived! — the moment unfolded so quickly. That first cry, that first connection — it’s impossible to put into words. Witnessing life enter the world, seeing this family’s courage and love on full display, was a true privilege.

They allowed me into a high-risk journey. They trusted me with their fears, their strength, their joy — and with the first moments of their baby’s life. This moment was humbling, grounding, and an absolute honor.

To the Sassen Family, There are no words that truly communicate how honored I feel to have been invited into your world. To witness your courage, strength, and tenderness is something I will carry with me forever. You let me see life at its most raw, most beautiful, and most sacred form. I saw the anxiety, the waiting, the anticipation... and when baby Sebas came into the world, everything else faded and all that existed was love, relief, and pure awe.
